Gabrielle Union character in Daddy's Little Girls isn't that bad.

2020.09.12 22:14 Leading_Cold Gabrielle Union character in Daddy's Little Girls isn't that bad.

Recently I watch Daddy's Little Girls again, and I must say, that movie portrayal of a working black woman was an insult.
Mind you, the first time I saw this movie I was a kid, and as a kid I thought she was a horrible person. Now, as an adult watching her again, I have to say she is 100% right.
Gabrielle's character is a successful lawyer who makes 6 figures and educated. Yes, she is a bit mean, but that is a small compression to everything around her. Her friends constantly put her on dates with random men who are just below her as a person. Not even job-wise but as a person, one man didn't even want to pay the bill for their blind date. The blind date then embarrasses her and describes sexual acts towards her lips, which makes her very uncomfortable.
But when she tries to explain this to her friend, she basically tells her she needs to lower her standers and try to remove the stick up her ass. She then hangs up the phone after telling her that she is with HER MAN. As if it was too insulting her. Also, she complains that she needs to have sex to calm down like that is going to take away the stress of being a high paid lawyer who is also a black woman at those times?
Then we have Idris Elba character basically doing the same thing, insulting her because she can't get a partner. He then basically tells her to pull the stick out her ass so she can calms down. Which pisses me off is that she does and she hooks up with a Idris, as if he was a catch with no problems of his own.
And the thing that gets me is that she isn't a mean person. Small examples is that she tries to confer Monty after he losses his kids. She also was willing to hear him out and help him get his kids back, this was before they started to develop feelings. So we see she's not that bad of a person. She even starts to fall in love with him not because he's rich or anything, but because he is a good person with a good heart. True she had doubt and didn't see the full picture, but as a woman who just read that her lover may have been a rapist, wouldn't you be on high alert too?
Its not even about money-wise, like her best friend pointed out, I am annoyed at the fact that this man doesn't see the struggles she goes through to try and understand her problems. At the same time, the film really doesn't give him a chance too either. Maybe one small hint then and there, but that's it. He is constantly trying to get his kids, and which is the main plot of the story and I understand.
What I am saying is, Daddy's Little Girls didn't age well when it comes to Gabrielle's character. She is a smart, educated, successful, strong, well-spoken, good-hearted, and badass woman. But we don't see the full picture till after she gets a man, and that what annoys me about this movie.

2020.09.10 18:00 nstav13 [Spoilers] Moorish Iberia and the Inquisition - Least Expected Setting Discussions

A common trait Assassin’s Creed groups have is the constant theorizing about future settings, because historical tourism is one of the best parts of the series. This series of posts will act as a counter to my Mildly Obscure setting discussions, but rather than looking at a single point, I will be taking a broad setting that is popular and looking at several potential settings to explore within it. Today’s setting is Medieval Iberia.

Caliphate of Cordoba
The Berber Revolt was the beginning of the end for the Umayyad Caliphate which would fall to the Abbasids in 750. The ethnic Berbers and Syrian Muslims that had entered Spain were collectively known as Moors by the Christians and they dominated the Iberian Peninsula. Surviving members of the Umayyad dynasty went on to rule the Emirate of Cordoba but bowed to the Caliph of the Abbasids in Baghdad for nearly 200 years. During this time in Northern Africa, new branches of Islam were occurring.
For those unaware, there was a split in Islam after Muhammad’s death in 632ce, as he left no male heir to his united empire. Thus the question became who should lead? The father in law and close friend of Muhammad, Abu Bakr; or his cousin and son in law, Ali? This split Muslims between Sunnis who followed Abu Bakr and Shi'a who followed Ali. While Abu Bakr became the first caliph, Ali did eventually become the 4th. The Umayyads and Abbasids were both Sunnis but the Abbasids claimed they were descendants from Muhammad and used that as a way to gain Shi'a favor. Shiites do not use the term caliph for their leaders as Sunnis did, instead calling them Imams while Sunnis use the term imam to be a religious leader like a priest or rabbi. Most of the Shi'a today are known as “Twelvers” meaning basically that they believe that there were 12 imams who were divinely ordained as spiritual successors to Muhammad and the last imam, Hujjat-Allah ibn al-Hasan is the Mahdi, a man who will rule all of Islam for several years before the day of Judgement. In this time, a branch of Shiites moved away from the other Twelvers, believing Isma’il ibn Jafar to have been the true 7th imam instead of his younger brother. This belief gave birth to Isma’ilism that contained several tariqas which are different “paths” or schools of thought on spirituality and mysticism. The Fatimid Dynasty began growing in Northern Africa with Isma’ilism at its core, and in 902 would claim to be a caliphate with the intention of conquering the Abbasids. Within a few years, they’d establish an imamate in Egypt which became home to the leading path of the Nizari. Around 1060ce a young man named Hassan i-Sabbah would go to Cairo to learn from the Nizari and brought it back with him to Persia where he founded the castles at Alamut and Masyaf and created the real Assassins. Even after the order’s real collapse in the 13th century, the Nizari Isma’ili tradition lived on and today holds the imam of the Nizari holds his seat in Lisbon, Portugal.
During the early rise of the Fatimids, Abd al-Rahman III became the emir of Cordoba in 912ce, attempting to not stir the pot with the Christian Kingdoms to the north, he subdued several rich rebellions for the next 16 years as emir. While dealing with these rebels, his alliance with the Abbasids had the Fatimids looking at invasion of al-Andalus, after having taken western Ifriqiya which were large Berber trade partners. In 929 he declared himself Caliph of the Cordoba Caliphate. He had already led several battles against the Northern Christian kingdoms between 912 and 928. The Kingdom of Leon gained a new king in 932 after 8 years of internal struggle of succession leading to the rise of Romero II. Romero first besieged Toledo and captured it with Madrid. al-Rahman quickly turned his loss into several victories against Romero who was forced to retreat back to Leon by 934. In 937 he captured Zaragoza from its Muslim leader that allied with Romero. In 939, Fernan Gonzalez of Castille worked with Romero to ferment turmoil in al-Rahman’s ranks, nearly costing him his life at the battle of Simancas. Despite the rebellion within the moors ranks, the Christians were unable to push further due to internal conflicts of their own, and by 956 had entered a civil war. Al-Rahman used this to his advantage bringing in emissaries from Barcelona and enemies of Leon to Cordoba plotting to overthrow the new king of Leon. Abd al-Rahman III died in 961 leaving the caliphate to his son, Al-Hakam II, and while both brought a golden age of architecture, art, and science to Hispania, it would quickly decline with the caliphate.

Reconquista
The death of Al-Hakam II in 976 was the first nail in the coffin for the Cordoba Caliphate. His heir was 10 years old when he died, leading to weak and ineffectual rule dominated by his advisors, and the weakness continued along with several more rulers until 1009 when the Caliphate devolved into the Fitna (civil war) of al-Andalus. During this, the Hammudid dynasty of Morocco, descended from Idris I invaded al-Andalus. The Caliphate of Cordoba collapsed completely between 1031 and 1056, leaving Taifas or Muslim principalities in its place.
Badajoz, Toledo, and Zaragoza were the strongest of the Taifas, but the rest could not stand up against the raids of the Christian Kingdoms, initially demanding tributes and later outright conquering them. By 1086, leaders of the Taifas began asking the Moroccan Almoravid Dynasty for help. At this point, Alfonso VI of Leon and Castille had taken Toledo. Prior to this, the Castillian Knight El Cid had become a local warlord, taking contracts on behalf of the moors against the Christians due them exiling him. Yusuf ibn Tashfin entered al-Andalus in 1086 and swiftly defeated Alfonso VI at the battle of Sagrajas with the assistance of El Cid. I July of 1087 Alfonso recalled El Cid to Leon who refused to help the Christian king and returned to Zaragoza. For the next 3 years, Zaragoza remained neutral as all other Taifas were conquered by Yusuf. Finally, in 1090 El Cid officially began to work for Alfonso but in reality, had no allegiance. Using a joint Christian and Moorish army he conquered the Taifa of Valencies between 1090 and 1092 and immediately began a siege of the city itself. In 1094, he succeeded and ruled Valencia himself, with a city filled with both Christians and Moors. Yusuf, however, would lay siege to this city in 1099 where El Cid would die, cementing Yusuf’s claim over all Moorish territory except Toledo. Yusuf and his son would continually attempt to besiege Toledo for the next 9 years until 1108 when they attacked Ucles instead, killing Alfonso’s son. With secession and Castilian politics in peril, in 1109 they attacked Toledo again, still failing to take it, but killing Alfonso in the process. In 1119 the Knights Templars were officially founded and headquartered on Jerusalem. The Crusades had been in full swing for about 20 years and by 1128 the Knights Templars moved from just being a military order in the Holy Land to also move to Spain. The popes would use their involvement as a way of showing them fighting a two-front war and officially declared the Christian Reconquista of Iberia to be a holy crusade. This was used as more propaganda. This also allowed for Templars to build more castles and expand their banking systems. By this point, the Assassins were firmly rooted in the Levant and the Hidden Ones had likely moved to the peninsula as well. Based on the movie, in 1492 the Assassins seemed to be somewhat isolated from other cells that had advanced their traditions. This however is contradicted by other games that had Ezio go to Spain and was in contact with Spanish Assassins.
Regardless, the Almoravid Dynasty in al-Andalus did not last long. By 1120 Morocco had been taken over from within by the Almohad Caliphate stretching its way to Egypt, and by 1130 it rooted out all Almoravid power structures in Iberia and replaced it with their own. The Almohads kept up a constant back and forth for the better part of a century famously defeating Alfonso VIII at the Battle of Alarcos in 1195. Alfonso VIII did not sit idly by and formed a coalition of Castille and Toledo, Navarre, Leon, Portugal, and Aragon and broke the Caliph’s power in Andalusia during a series of battles in 1212. Between this and a series of civil wars in Africa after the death of Abu Ya’qub Yusuf II in 1224 the Caliphate collapsed once more into taifas. By the 1260s just about everything except Granada had fallen in the Kingdom of Aragon and Castile.
The results of the civil war in Morocco was the rise of the Marinid Sultanate and in the early 14th century, they entered Iberia to help secure Grenada. Despite the loss in the Battle of Rio Salado in 1340, they managed to hold off in Grenada and Gibraltar. In 1349 Gibraltar was besieged but at that point the Black Plague was entering the Peninsula and ripped through the siege camp, killing Alfonso XI and much of his army. The Castilian army withdrew and the king's successor, Peter, made a peace with the moors and turned to war with the other Christian states for supremacy while keeping Castile unified, an issue it’d been facing for 70 years now.
Spanish Inquisition
In 1469 Ferdinand II of Aragon married the Isabella I unifying Spain and becoming the first de facto King of Spain and 4 years later did the unexpected by forming the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition. By about this point the Emir of Granada had been granted an Apple of Eden. The new King and Queen began a relentless attack on Granada chipping away at the control and conquering cities for about 20 years in what Pope Sixtus described as a holy crusade. Tomas de Torquemada was made the Grand Inquisitor and based on AC lore took direct orders from Rodrigo Borgia who was on his way to become pope. In 1487 Muhammad XII was made the Emir of Granada. In lore, Ezio traveled to Spain in 1491 to assist the local assassins in saving them from the attacks of Templar Master Torquemada. He eventually made his way to Granada around the same time Aguilar and Maria did to rescue the son of Muhammad XII, knowing he had a PoE, their failure saw them briefly imprisoned in Seville before making their way back to Granada. Believing Tomas de Torquemada was just a puppet for the Borgias, Ezio convinced Muhammad XII to surrender Granada. Two months later on January 2nd, 1492, Muhammad XII did just that to regain his son at the price of the apple and his power. Aguilar killed the Templars at this meeting other than Tomas and retrieved the apple, passing it off to Christopher Columbus, an ally of Ezio and the other Spanish Assassins. Spanish Assassin Luis de Santangel would go on to work with Queen Isabella to help fund Columbus’ voyage.
Ezio would leave to go back to Venice in 1492 still in pursuit of Savanarola, while the assassins dealt with the aftermath of the end of the Granada War and the Inquisition beginning in full force. In 1492 Castilian cities were home to Tribunals and the Alhambra decree forcibly expelled Jews from Spain leading to tens of thousands converted to Catholicism and 40,000 fled the country. Assassins worked to rehome them in Rome and Constantinople. By 1498 the Spanish assassins realized Isabela was a puppet of the Templars and attempted to poison her, with Luis in charge of the assassination but dying that year before the job was done. Also that year Tomas de Torquemada was assassinated by assassins. In 1500 or so Ezio had learned from his recruits and allies in Spain that Isabel was in league with the Borgias and Luis had tried to poison her. The assassins would finally finish the job in November of 1504 but not before she had Cesare Borgia who was then imprisoned, transferred to Valencia. Spain would continue infighting and suppression of rebellions while retaining hegemony for another decade while the Spanish Inquisition legally stayed in effect until 1834. But at this point, for the first time in 780 years, the Iberian Peninsula was clear of the Moorish occupation.

In Addition to Vaccines, Will iBIO Help Manufacture A Global Supply for Therapeutics, Including RITUXIMAB Biosimilars and Its Own IBIO-100?
TL;DR: I think so, because this is what iBIO was doing pre-pandemic. It just so happens to be a potential COVID-19 treatment, as well!!As recently as July 31, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) continues to grant pre-qualification to certain manufacturers who submitted RITUXIMAB dossiers to facilitate access to biotherapeutic products, including similar biotherapeutic products (SBPs), at affordable prices. Like generic medicines, biosimilars can be much less expensive versions of innovator biotherapeutics while keeping the same quality, safety and efficacy. They are usually manufactured by other companies once the patent on the original product has expired.https://www.who.int/medicines/regulation/biotherapeutic_products/en/ https://www.who.int/medicines/regulation/BT_PQ-List_V4_31Jul2020.xlsx?ua=1
iBIO and its international partners are uniquely positioned to meet this need.
CHINA - (I know, I know about Tom Isett's Interview with Steve Clemons, I think this is a different agreement...)
In August 2019, iBio granted to CC-Pharming an exclusive, royalty-bearing commercial license to iBio Rituximab product candidates for the territory of China, as well as a research license to iBio’s FastPharming System™ and know-how for the evaluation of multiple product opportunities.

2020.08.13 00:16 daikonhoney Questioning

Hi everyone, I came out as pan in my early twenties. Then I met my current (male) partner and I've been with him for two years. I genuinely love my partner but I hate sex and cuddling.
The thing is I actually have enjoyed sex with men. Or at least I think I did. The irony is that the enjoyable sex has been with men that I was in horrible, dysfunctional relationships with. I was also always a sub getting off by the man looking at me and imagining how he felt. Most of these men haven't necessarily been super masc but definitely saw themselves as "the man."
On the other hand, my current relationship is loving, nourishing, and respectful. I don't feel like I have to fit this ideal femininity any more. (Ironically after a bad breakup I embraced my femininity and went full high femme.) If anything, I feel like maybe my partner would be more attracted to me if I was more androgynous. The thing is he's not a top in bed, doesn't look at me, and is interested in pegging. All of these things really turn me off.
I'm not sure if I'm pansexual or actually a lesbian. When I think about other men I can imagine myself maybe sleeping with them and maybe dating them, but never really both. For example, I'd bang Idris Elba but would I ever date him? Probably not. Dev Patel seems like he'd make a great boyfriend (the hair! the charm!) But I bet sex would suck after a few months. And I can never picture myself dating a man more than a few years, and never marrying or having kids.
With women it seems different. I have sexual and romantic fantasies about women but they're just that: fantasies. I don't have any real life experience to flesh out these fantasies, so I don't know if i'm just romanticising my imagination. Has anyone been in a similar boat?

2020.07.26 18:40 THROWRA_idkwtd123 I (24f) keep fantasizing about my bf's (26m) fantasy girl (23f)

My bf and I have been together for eight years, living together for three. Late last year we were playing a variation on the celebrity pass game. For those who don't know, it's a game you play where you can choose one person, usually a celebrity, that you can sleep with while being in a relationship with your partner. My bf and I were doing a slightly different version of this game, where we would pick out one for each other instead of ourselves. He picked Idris Elba for me, and I picked "J" for him. "J" is an instagram fitness model that I follow. I'm keeping her name out of it for reasons that will become clear in a moment.
A few months later, "J" moved in to the apartment above ours. This took us both a bit by surprise, but my bf reassured me that he knew the game we played was just a joke, and he's not going to do anything with "J". Over the past few months "J" and I have become quite friendly with each other, and have gone to each other's apartments for coffee, hung out, etc. She's very sweet and friendly, and I'm glad about this.
However, I've begun to have very explicit dreams about "J" and my bf having fun with each other. The thing is though... I enjoy those dreams. I enjoy thinking about the two of them doing stuff together, while I watch. I've never had any feelings like this before, and they've only become more intense as time has gone on. Last Thursday "J" had dinner with me and my bf, and it was all I could think about. I don't know where these thoughts have come from. All I know is that I have them now.
The way I see it, there are two options.
Option 1: I keep it just as a fantasy in my head. It might go away on its own. But like I said, it's become more intense in recent times and I'm scared the intensity might increase.
Option 2: I try to have my fantasy become a reality. But if my bf and "J" aren't into it, then I risk alienating them. If they are into it, and I end up not being satisfied with the result, then I risk alienating myself.
I don't know how to go forward. It's starting to drive me crazy.

his name is Kramden Jones. Jones is portrayed by (none other than) Betor Knives. Betor as Kramden has no shared characteristics with his previous role Bossy Bob.
  1. The Reference and The One Who Was Part of the Referenced - Self-Reference?
Since Season 1, no more implied, explicit or suggested references to MOBMOVIE2000 have been made by Guy Everydude, or any other cast, at any point.
Kramden Jones and Guy Everydude are friendly, nothing special or not special - no effort to draw attention to them as a pair.
  1. Nothing to See Here:
The character Kramden Jones departs at the end of the season (as does his portrayor Betor Knives.)
Season 6 ends.
————
PART III
  1. The Show Does Not Go On
The show airs 5 more seasons - no references made by any cast to MOBMOVIE2000, or even Kramden Jones.
The show ends.
—————
  1. Some Questions
A. IS THERE A WORD OR PHRASE FOR THIS... paradox? catch-22? Could even be considered a continuity error if you’re a maniac?
B. IF THERE IS NO WORD OR PHRASE - WHAT SHOULD IT BE?!??
C. WHAT are you even defining:
The moment the reference is ever made? The moment the guest walks on? The moment after they talk and he doesn’t recognize him? The episode that it’s on? The show it’s on? Something else?

Who is IBIO?

IBIO CDMO

FastPharming Technology

FastGlycaneering (Glycan-Engineering)

Why FastGlycaneering?

PIPELINE

Advantages of IBIO-400

Partners

Team

FINANCIALS

CONCERNS:
· A few very important quotes from the 10-Q filed 05/15/2020
· “To become and remain profitable, the Company must succeed in commercializing its technologies, alone or with its licensees, the service offerings provided by its CDMO facility, and in developing and eventually commercializing products that generate significant revenue. In addition, profitability will depend on continuing to attract and retain customers for the development, manufacturing and technology transfer services offered by the Company.”
· “Based on the total cash on hand of approximately $10.0 million as of March 31, 2020, combined with subsequent purchases of the Company’s common stock by Lincoln Park through the date of the filing of this report totaling approximately $10 million, we believe the Company has adequate cash on hand to support the Company’s activities for at least one year from this report date.”

CONCLUSION
I am bullish medium/long term on IBIO if they can mange to effectively license their technology platforms as well as continue to further research and develop their vaccination candidates. IF either IBIO 200 and/or 201 show positive results soon in combating COVID, this is could lead to government funding (possible OWS) as the ability to mass produce 500 million vaccines annually on their own is huge. They have burned through a good bit of cash and are reliant on some key factors, but overall with the direction the world is going and the increased popularity/demand for vaccines, I am positive on the future outlook of IBIO for now.
I own a position of 1050 shares @ 4.49 and plan to hold for 1+ year.
Hope everyone enjoys and as always I invite comments, concerns, and additional information I missed. Best of luck to everyone with their trades and have a great weekend!

EDIT 1: July 29, 2020: IBIO filed an 8-K. Within the 8-K, it states "The Company plans to participate in media interviews and make a series of investor presentations over the next several weeks, during which it intends to discuss the preliminary preclinical data set forth in Exhibit 99.1, which is incorporated herein by reference." (Page 3, Item 8.01). In my opinion, you wouldn't participate in media interviews and prepare for investor presentations if you had negative preliminary data or doubts. I remain upbeat about the next few months.

EDIT 2: Ibio activated SAM funding on 07/31/2020

EDIT 3: Going back over my DD I realize I have left out 3 very important relationships iBio has formed this year.
  1. iBio Selected by IBM Watson Health for the use of IBM Clinical Development Solution at No Cost to help Support clinical COVID-19 Vaccine Candidates
    1. IBM Watson Health has selected iBio to receive 18 months of use of the IBM Clinical Development (ICD) solution, free-of-charge.
  2. iBio Expands COVID-19 Vaccine Collaboration to Include the Infectious Disease Research Institute (Seattle).
    1. Signed two Master Services Agreements (the MSAs”) and a Memorandum of Understanding (the “MoU”) with the Infectious Disease Research Institute (“IDRI”) in support of iBio’s SARS-CoV-2 Virus-Like Particle (“VLP”) vaccine development.
    2. IDRI will support pre-clinical development and provide clinical trial oversight, while iBio will provide process development and manufacturing services to IDRI, as needed.
    3. Additionally, the MoU calls for iBio and IDRI to establish a separate, additional agreement within the next 60 days if the Company opts to include one of IDRI’s novel adjuvants in the COVID-19 vaccine development program (“IBIO-200”).
    4. The MSAs and the MoU integrate IDRI into iBio’s collaboration with the Texas A&M University System to create a strong partnership that brings deep experience and advanced technologies and capabilities to the task of moving IBIO-200 into the clinic.
  3. Joined the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (“NIIMBL”), one of 14 institutes in the Manufacturing USA Network.
    1. NIIMBL is a public-private partnership that aims to accelerate biopharmaceutical manufacturing innovations and establish an international, leading workforce to fundamentally strengthen the U.S. biopharmaceutical industry.
    2. NIIMBL has an extensive network of more than 140 academic and industry partners within the U.S., including biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, research laboratories and non-profit organizations.

EDIT 4:
Alright, so this is ALL THEORY again but I can't help but post to get everyones opinion.
I was going back and watching Trump's Press Conference from July 28th where he talks about "producing 100 million vaccines as soon as a vaccine is approved and then 500 million doses shortly after."
So, the 500 million dose approximation Trump stated caught my attention because that is the same approximation iBio has claimed previously and was reiterated by Tom Isett in his The Hill interview.
What REALLY caught my attention was at 0:21 to 0:45. Trump begins to ramble on about "logistically using the military", a group of people who's "whole life is based around logistics", and them being able to do it very very quickly. Well at the end Trump says "a very very talented General is in charge."
First, the Department of Defense built the 130,000 sq ft CDO that iBio acquired in Bryan, Texas. So they know it exist.
Second, guess who are on the Board of Directors at iBio, Inc.?
General (Ret.) James T. Hill was the Commander of the 4-Star United States Southern Command, reporting directly to the President and Secretary of Defense at the time of his retirement from active duty. As such he led all U.S. military forces and operations in Central America, South America and the Caribbean, worked directly with U.S. Ambassadors, foreign heads of state, key Washington decision-makers, foreign senior military and civilian leaders, developing and executing United States policy. His responsibilities included management, development and execution of plans and policy within the organization including programming, communications, manpower, operations, logistics and intelligence. General Hill's experience implementing plans and policies within diverse geographic regions and his insights regarding the conduct of business affairs in Central and South America is a key resource for us.

Philip K. Russell, M.D. served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1959 to 1990, pursuing a career in infectious disease and tropical medicine research. Following his military service, Dr. Russell joined the faculty of Johns Hopkins University's School of Hygiene and Public Health and worked closely with the World Health Organization as special advisor to the Children's Vaccine Initiative. He was founding board member of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative and was an advisor to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has served on numerous advisory boards of national and international agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control ("CDC"), the National Institutes of Health ("NIH") and the Institute of Medicine. Dr. Russell is a past Chairman of the Albert B. Sabin Vaccine Institute. Dr. Russell's extensive experience and expertise in the field of infectious diseases and his association with leading governmental and not-for-profit entities engaged in pioneering work throughout the world provides us with invaluable insights into priorities for these entities and business development opportunities for us.

EDIT 5:
Here are a few things I’ve been looking into lately in regard to iBio:
First off, The US Government has made investments in programmes such as DARPA’s Blue Angel and other accelerated, large-scale manufacturing efforts for medical countermeasures within the Department of Defense and Department of Health and Human Services to develop capabilities to rapidly respond to any emerging disease or pandemic threat.
[DARPA Effort Speeds Biothreat Response](https://archive.defense.gov/News/NewsArticle.aspx?ID=61520)
This is an article from DoD website from 2010.
This lead me to begin researching G-Con:
Since 2009, G-CON has lead the cleanroom industry, fulfilling pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical needs and embracing new trends. G-CON designs, builds and installs prefabricated cleanroom PODs for a variety of dimensions and purposes, from laboratory environments to personalized medicines and even production process platforms.
Well I was watching a YouTube video about The GreenVax Project and the construction of the facility in Bryan/College Station that iBio eventually acquires in 2016.
https://youtu.be/T0nukOKUiCo
The same exact clean room solutions that G-Con designs is what Giroir is talking about in the video about being able to move the rooms around due to the air bearings.
EDIT 6:
USDA Confirmation of iBio planting seeds for Human Consumption.
EDIT 5: July 31st, 2020
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Department of Defense (DoD) today announced agreements with Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to support advanced development including clinical trials and large-scale manufacturing of 100 million doses of a COVID-19 investigational adjuvanted vaccine.... The U.S. government also has the ability to acquire up to 500 million additional doses. Is this could be what Trump was referring to?
It very well could be! I’ve stated that this is theory and nothing is for certain.
However, it has been said by many doctors/scientists that it will take many manufactures and vaccines to produce what’s being demanded. Even Trump stated that at his North Carolina COVID press release.
Things that stood out to me HHS, DoD article.
I could still very well be wrong. This is a personal opinion based on my own research and conclusions.

EDIT 7: August 6th, 2020
Trump signs executive order requiring government to buy ‘essential’ drugs from U.S. companies
EDIT 8: August 7th, 2020
SEC FORM SC 13D/A Eastern Capital Ltd. [Amend] General statement of acquisition of beneficial ownership.

2020.07.01 01:47 SabatonBabylon Coronation Day [Chapter 12]

Previous First Next
-----
Chapter 11 Art: Bullets in the Night
Chapter 12: No Knock
-----
Commander Idris Octavia wasted no time, dispatching the team’s medic to Spot and Tark’s side the moment boots hit the roof.
“Alright, let’s have a look,” the gazelle demanded, holding up Tark’s frozen stump of an arm and examining it closely. He clicked his tongue, activating his helmet’s light. “Good enough, I’ll take it from here,” he reported as Spot grabbed the portable cover from the back of the medic’s pack and erected it on the other side of the three of them, ensuring that at least a decent range of fire from neighboring rooftops would be blocked. The roof of the Oro’s main base was fairly secure as far as he could see, with sixteen of his comrades fixing their rappelling gear to the edge of the building under cover of the remainder of the force. The urgency of their work was laid bare as a couple of Oro gang members kicked open the door to the roof, no doubt wondering what all the ruckus was about. Each of them earned a silenced burst of magicite energy to the brain for their troubles, courtesy of Karth’s submachine gun and another Sekhama who was watching the entrance. The Oro tended to wear golden masks, accented with glowing red cybernetics and pronounced morphology, usually batlike. While it was certainly a fashion statement, the masks did nothing to forestall their owners’ demise that night.
The Sekhama moved quickly to stop the falling bodies from alerting more of the mnyama, catching them and dragging them away from the entry point. Those couple of minutes were but a blur for the young wild dog, who was given no time to accept the fact that the killing had begun when Octavia called out to him. “Rookie, you either stay with him or come with me. Choose now,” he growled, hands crossed over his chest as the various breaching teams gave him the all clear, small green dots growing in number on his HUD.
“Go fuck them up, Spot. Wouldn’t want you to miss the fun. I’ll be fine here,” Tark assured him, unholstering his pistol and holding it out to his partner. Spot smiled, activated the magicite heat sink for him, and handed it back.
“I’m sorry, Tark. I should have-”
“Fuck off, man. Chicks dig mechanical arms. Now go get some scars of your own; and fix your damn bayonet!”
“Right!” The rookie yelped, scrambling to his feet as his boots scraped against the rough surface of the roof. Octavia nodded approvingly as he fixed the eighteen inch blade to the underbarrel of his shotgun.
“Stay in formation and watch that thing in tight confines,” was all the Commander had for him in the way of advice before silently giving the all clear to his troops. From his back came the great tower shield he was known for, his revolver already at the ready. Alpha team was prepped to follow him down the stairs and onto the top floor of the structure, with Beta and Gamma teams, eight strong apiece, rappelling one and two floors below that respectively. They all watched silently as Gamma disappeared over the edge of the roof, two per side. A moment later Beta joined them, visors lowered and set to maximum protection.
“Sybela, now would be the time,” Seth advised, watching the proceedings from a secluded vantage point along with Argos.
“It would be my pleasure,” the hacker replied, sending a remote signal to the spikes Seth had planted on the building’s network lines earlier in the day. At her command the various turrets, cameras, and other automated defenses in the building went dark, a discretionary choice on her part. “I left them all alive for you lot. Have fun, Argos!”
“If I know anything about my former brothers, Sybela, they’ll be grateful for a few extra targets and a bit less crossfire.”
“We should move, Argos,” Seth advised. “The Oro rely on their tech, subterfuge, and corporate alliances to keep them safe. Octavia has stripped that all away, and they will flee like roaches from the light. The Trang’aul put up a decent fight at least. This will be a slaughter.”
“Then let’s make sure it’s complete,” the tiger agreed, checking his gear. “Ready when you are, Seth.”
“The Sekhama left rifles on the roof but that doesn’t mean the Oro don’t have other means of escape. Three block perimeter?”
“Sounds good. Talon?” Argos called to their sniper.
“I have the southern approaches from here. You guys take the rest,” the sniper replied, adjusting his scope for heat signatures and calibrating it to dim the ambient heat of the buildings and surrounding environments. “If any of those rats escape, we’ll get ‘em. Damn, I can already taste the beer.”
“Have fun boys!” Sybela chimed in right as Octavia gave the order to attack. Keiko felt her ears twitch nervously, so close and yet so far from the action. The lights in Seth’s ‘shrine’ had faded to ambient night as she sat there, unwilling to miss a moment even with her limited capacity as an electronic observer.
As one, the Sekhama swung out, down, and forward. Their heavy boots smashed through the windows of the structure, flinging glass everywhere as the attack began in earnest. Flashbang grenades flew and detonated as they tucked and rolled into position, their heavy armor providing much needed protection from the environment. Above them, Idris’ team burst out of the roof access stairwell and onto the top floor, chucking magicite and flashbang detonators as they went. With perfect coordination the entire top half of the building was blinded and deafened. Some species of Oro with particularly sensitive ears were brought low by the non-lethal measures alone, their eardrums ruptured and heads spinning as the entire world was thrown into blurry, blinding disarray. Throughout their training, Idris Octavia instilled in his men the virtues of ammo conservation. Magicite technology was plentiful and it’s lethal byproducts even moreso, but every shot fired still cost the crown, and the people, money. Their opponents being poorly armored, heavily augmented bats rolling on the floor, a bayonet to the heart or a knife to the throat proved more than sufficient. The heavier Sekhama, those of bovine, rhinoceros, or even elephantine stock simply crushed their heads beneath their boots. The Oro tended to take unusual pride in their appearances, a neo-gothic tech vibe complete with plenty of cosmetic augmentations beneath the skin and fur. There was a unique catharsis in grinding that devilry into red paste, the occasional snapping of silicon and plastic accompanying the pulverization of bone and flesh. It also allowed them to keep their gun barrels pointed forward.
“Open fire,” Octavia ordered calmly, though his men needed no additional invitation as the lion fired the first shot, dropping a hostile cheetah with a bullet to the chest. The Oro’s mask clattered to the floor as his blood soaked through his dark robes trimmed in red. Though Idris’ men took grim satisfaction in melee combat, they were professionals; professionals who knew that disabled hostile targets were secondary targets. Crossfire lit the top floors of the building in a dazzling and deadly lightshow, as any Oro left standing following the initial invasion were put down in a hail of fire. The mnyama screamed in pain as shards of fire ripped open and instantly cauterized wounds in their chest. Others fell to the ground in twitching heaps, their implants overloaded by magicite shock rounds as the smell of singed hair and flesh began to fill the building. Those few Sekhama who favored cryo rounds simply shattered their victims fully or partially, depending on the make and caliber of their weapons. Within the chaos, Spot found himself jerking his head around incessantly, trying to take it all in at once as Idris moved calmly through the space, providing a bulwark for his forces and serving as the tip of the spear.
“Gah!” Spot gasped as he fired his weapon in combat for the first time, targeting an Oro net jockey. The flying fox had just struggled to one knee when a blast from the wild dog’s shotgun threw him onto his back, blood and sparks flying from the many small wounds the shot had inflicted. With a cry of rage and the scent of blood permeating his muzzle, Spot leapt upon him, striking true with his bayonet. The Oro did not move again as Spot stared at his grim work, his first kill. A giant paw grabbed him by the back of his armor and pulled him into formation.
“Good. Don’t stop next time,” Octavia ordered in a low, almost fatherly voice, radioing the few men he’d left on the roof before the breach. “Delta, report!”
“We’ve got runners but not many, sir,” a Sekhama reported over the crack of rifle fire. “Be ready.”
“Acknowledged. Radio the final shuttles and get the techs on the ground now. There might even be an intact neural implant or two somewhere in this mess. Be ready for all sorts of dead man switch bullshit, AI worshipping freaks. Beta, Gamma, move on to your secondary objectives and clear the remaining floors,” the lion ordered as the gunfire died down on their own floor. The slaughter had taken less than a minute, and Spot was fairly certain that the blood would not be coming out of the worn down furniture and upholstery that had been torn up in the battle. He hoped the crown might be able to demolish and rebuild the structure as something more constructive in the neighborhood. Octavia marshalled his own troops. “Alpha, basement, now.”
The wild dog barely had time to nod his helmet at two figures cowering in the corner, a couple of literal ladies of the night, he considered. The two fruit bats were crying softly as blood trickled from their ears. Their eyes were shut in pain as they huddled together in the midst of their former clients, now a pile of shredded bodies. His gesture only saw them raise their webbed arms above their heads in a feeble effort to protect themselves. The job wasn’t done, however, and so Spot followed the rest of Alpha squad and Idris Octavia back to the stairwell. On their descent the sounds and smells of combat reached them again as they passed their brothers in hallways and corridors, breaching and clearing various rooms one by one. A few of the mnyama managed to return fire as others yelled in panic that the turrets which oversaw most of the hallways and rooms of the building had been disabled. Spot felt his adrenaline surge as an Oro was thrown into the stairwell just behind him and summarily riddled full of flaming holes. His brothers had assured him as much beforehand, but it was nothing like the training simulations.
It was through that controlled chaos that he, Idris, and Alpha team reached the basement of the structure, encountering a fortified metal door that had not been in the blueprints. It proved no impediment to the Sekhama, who placed two demolition charges on the hinges and unceremoniously blew the barrier open. Idris took point as always, smashing the metal door to the ground and leading the way into a structure unlike any other that they had seen during the raid. Above them were tech hubs and living quarters, a setup more befitting a part time street gang full of net goons than one of the more devious mnyama in the city. Spot and the others quickly realized that to all be a ruse as the true purpose of the Oro was laid bare before them. It wasn’t only the rookie who momentarily lowered their weapons in awe and disgust as they beheld the underground laboratory where Eina had been changed.
“Humanity preserve us,” Spot muttered in a horrified whisper as Octavia dropped two heavily armed guards in a most businesslike manner. They’d been protecting a faunum in a white and bloodstained lab coat, three individuals out of place among the hive of bats, meerkat, ocelot, and other smaller species that made up the Oro. With the tiger and buffalo laid low, Idris advanced on the shaking baboon who seemed torn between stuffing something into a cooler at his feet and fleeing for the hills. Both options proved useless as the Sekhama fanned out and surrounded him, their eyes flicking from one horror to the next, trying to separate medical monstrosity from threat. Before them on a grimy operating table was the corpse of a female panther, her chest cavity and ribs sawed open to get at the organs underneath. In their place, ice had been dumped in an effort to preserve the tissue for emergency transport. Azure injection tech hung from the ceiling, the swirling blue liquid casting the majority of the light in the room. The rest of the illumination came from the side of the room Spot occupied. Behind him a variety of Alhamkara citizens were found suspended in bubbling blue vats of azure-infused liquid. His mouth went dry as he searched frantically for anything resembling an air supply. He found none.
“Y-You’re Octavia! You can’t do this! Psygenics and the Crown have been partners for decades!” The monkey gasped.
“You appear to have found new… partners,” Octavia drawled, returning the shield to his back and spinning the chamber of his revolver. He loaded a fresh round. “Talk if you value your life more than that of your protectors,” the lion demanded.
Around the room Sekhama gripped their weapons tightly and fingered their triggers nervously. They were all animals, and while the smell of blood had gotten them ready to fight and kill, there was only antiseptic, death, decay, and the scent of industrial plastics in that room full of vats, vials, syringes, and corpses. It was no place for any faunum or human who valued the sanctity of life. Against his better judgment, Spot stepped forward to examine another black body bag on a gurney. He reached out his gloved hand and pulled on the zipper. The sound was like machine gun fire as the face of a young cheetah was revealed under a covering of ice. Her eyes were open and dead, set upon by a combination of necrosis and frostbite. She couldn’t have been more than a few years older than Eina’s daughter, no doubt chosen due to the resilience of younger bodies to tampering and stress.
“I am fulfilling our birthright, our destiny!” The baboon insisted as Spot felt his feet moving, walking, then running. “The humans left us so that we might ascend in their wake, that we might shape ourselves in their image! These sacrifices are… wait. Wait. Wait!” The scientist screamed at Idris. The commander stood by stoically as the full force of Spot’s body slammed into the monkey. The rookie snarled and barked, forgetting all semblance of his nature as a faunum and indulging fully in his inner animal. The room wasn’t blue anymore, it was red, the same color as the bloody wounds he was opening on the monkey’s face with the butt of his shotgun. Alpha squad watched silently as their newest member slammed his weapon into the scientist again and again until the clack of the weapon’s stock against the concrete floor of the facility could be heard. Only then did Octavia step forward, snatching the gun away from him before resting a firm hand on his shoulder and hauling him to his feet.
“That’s enough, Sekhama,” Idris commanded, intentionally foregoing the use of the word ‘rookie’. His massive paw was more than enough to hold Spot still, even in his armor. The wild dog slowly became aware of his breathing again, of the heat inside his gear and the tears in his eyes.
“S-Sir, I didn’t-”
“The bayonet is faster,” his commander advised, returning his weapon to him as he holstered his own and radioed his other squads. “Beta, Gamma, Delta, status? Did we get Oro?”
When his squads all reported green status with no casualties save Tark’s shattered arm, Octavia nodded with partial satisfaction. There were no further hostile contacts, but none of his men had a confirmation on the Oro’s founder. “Karth, send the intelligence guys straight to the basement. They’ve been doing some sick shit down here. Centrifuges and hacksaw level sick. Alpha, remain here and secure this room. No one but our net techs and intelligence personnel get in here until I order otherwise, that includes the police. I’m going for a walk with the rookie. Oh, and Pteris?” Octavia called for the medic.
“Yes sir?” The gazelle replied promptly. “Tark is stable and I’ve prepped the limb for cybernetic integration. He’ll be ready to go as soon as we’re back.”
“Good. There were two whores who took full flashbangs on the top floor, and there may be civilians on other floors. Triage them and prepare a report for the medical shuttle crews. All of them will be treated at the palace under Doc Oz’s care. Is that clear?”
“Sir, yes sir,” the gazelle confirmed as Octavia eyed a secondary exit in the basement that the now quite deceased Psygenics researcher was likely planning on for his escape. Spot was hyperventilating, retching and shaking.
“Sekhama, our rookie needs some fresh air. You fought like animals tonight, and sent a very important message to our Lady’s enemies. Even in this hellhole, the light still dawns.”
“The light still dawns!” His men cried in reply, moving to begin standard post-op procedures. That included securing an air corridor for shuttles carrying non-combat Sekhama personnel, and the establishment of a perimeter to keep curious civilians and potential ne'er do wells away from the structure. Quite often, as Octavia mentioned, that included police who cut under the table deals with ‘locals’. The crown was not capable of matching every unscrupulous deal offered by the city’s underbelly. Unseen by both civilians and Sekhama, forgotten in the chaos, two men dropped from a nearby building into an alley, sighting a most important target.
“I’ll give you this, mnyama, you’re accommodatingly predictable,” Argos taunted, causing the cloaked vampire bat to jump frightfully and draw a pistol from within his cloak. Seth was more than quick enough to prevent any last minute stupidity, grabbing the Oro’s hand from behind.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” he growled, knowing his mask would amplify the unnatural tone of his voice.
“Y-you?! What are you mercenaries doing here? Markhan has no business with us. Get out of my way! Are you blind? The Sekhama are tearing up this entire block!”
“Ah yes, so they are,” Argos agreed as though he’d only just considered that fact. “But you’re the blind one, bat, if you think we’re here by chance.”
A grim realization hit the leader of the Oro, his face contorting in fear as he tried to wrest his hand away from Seth’s iron grip. He was no fighter, a man who had earned his way to the top through cruel ambition, a sharp mind, schemes, and dirty tricks. “W-Whatever they’re paying you for this I’ll double it, no, triple! Whatever you want!”
“So predictable yet again,” Argos spat, cracking his knuckles. “Tell me, coward, did you flee the moment my brothers hit your roof, or did you wait until the battle was clearly lost?”
“I think you’ll find it impossible to match her price, all things considered. And Argos, why are you monologuing?” Seth wondered calmly as the Oro continued to struggle futilely. The human’s eyes narrowed as a towering silhouette that definitely was not supposed to be there emerged into the alley from around the corner of a nearby building, the occasional gritty street light glinting off the figure’s bold and brash armor.
“Isn’t that what the heroes do? Or are we the villains in this story?” the tiger wondered humorously. Said humor was wiped from his face as Seth drew his knife and unceremoniously slit the bat’s throat in an instant, delivering the deathblow set up by the Sekhama that night. “Seth, what the-”
Keiko could not help but shriek in surprise and fear as the final gurgles of Oro’s life could be heard over the connection, followed by the thump of the body abruptly dropping to the street. “Rookie, get behind me and stay there,” Idris Octavia warned, pulling his gun and pointing it between Argos’ shoulderblades. The mercenary heaved a deep breath and spoke to Seth, slowly raising his hands into the air. The tiger couldn’t help but feel a pang of excitement.
“He’s pointing his gun at me, isn’t he? Never thought this day would come.”
“He is, so maybe you should shut it, you sentimental furball,” Seth warned, stepping over the Oro’s corpse and walking slowly and deliberately towards Argos. He kept his hands in sight, making no move to stow his knife or retrieve his pistol. After the slaughter of the Oro, all involved would later admit they had been itching for an ‘even fight’.
“I was under the impression you worked alone, Wolf,” Octavia growled. “Given me one reason I shouldn’t kill you both right here? That was the crown’s bounty you just stole.”
“Because we’re the only reason your landing force lived to have their fun this evening, and I think you know that. You’d have shot and killed us already otherwise… well at least you would be dead, Argos,” Seth agreed as Keiko felt ready to expire on the spot. Her captor was having a verbal sparring match with Commander Octavia in a dingy alley over a mnyama corpse. Not even her most devious handmaidens had regaled her with such heartstopping tales.
“All the more reason for me to kill you,” Octavia replied threateningly. “Where is she? Lady Keiko, where is she?!”
“Commander?” Spot couldn’t help but speak, his blood still hammering in his veins. The lion looked at him out of the corner of his eye, a glance so terrifying it made his nerves run cold and drained every ounce of bloodlust from him in an instant. As if the blood red armor across the alley wasn’t enough.
“Be silent, Spot. You’re playing with the big boys now. Wolf, one chance before I give you the death you so richly deserve. Where is Lady Keiko?!”
“By humanity… Seth!” Keiko whispered nervously, biting her claws for the first time since she was young.
“Seth,” Argos spoke warily, slowly turning around to face Octavia. He was smart enough to not make any sudden moves of his own. “Why the hell does he know about that? And if he does, why aren’t we super dead?”
“I believe he just told you,” Seth answered, stepping fully in front of Argos to shield the bulky tiger with his own body.
“A noble gesture, Wolf, but I’m confident my iron is good enough to take you down even with that fancy blood armor of yours. Besides, all I need to do is aim higher and your companion will be missing quite a bit of his gray matter. Now answer me!”
“Lady Keiko is watching us right now,” Seth assured him. “And we are here at her behest.”
“What the fuck did you just say?!” Argos shouted, throwing off his helmet and shaking Seth by both his shoulders. “Are you telling me that Sunburst is actually Keiko?! What the fuck are you-”
“Nope, nope nope nope!” Talon suddenly squawked over the comms. “Seth are you fucking… by humanity Bunns, you knew about this and agreed to it?! Markhan is going to pluck me like a spring chicken and turn you into a pair of slippers! Seth, please tell me you’re joking. Please tell me we didn’t just throw in with the Princess against every armed goon in this entire city!”
“Well?!” Argos demanded of Seth, his sudden fury holding Octavia’s fire as the lion couldn’t help but observe the intrigue with the barest restraint. His enemies were speaking and fighting. He was in a favorable position.
“That… does just about sum it up,” Seth admitted.
Octavia continued to watch with unvarnished interest as Argos slugged Seth so hard his mask flew off, clattering against a couple of dumpsters nearby. “You goddamn hairless monkey! You know I don’t give a fuck about my own life, but you have no right to put my family at risk in your stupid games,” Argos roared.
“Argos, it’s ok! I double and triple checked everything and-”
“You are not better than the entire Wildfire, Sybela! When this gets back to Markhan he’s going to… Commander, requesting permission to kill this man myself,” the tiger snarled.
“I thought I recognized that face,” Octavia said deftly, guardedly lowering his weapon as he did his best to keep his shock regarding both mercenaries' identities in check. The time for questions would be later, or never. “You’ve already blown up most of a city block, what’s the death of what I suppose is the last human on this planet compared to that?”
“He’s a what?!” Spot yelped, peeking out from around Idris’ shield only to be shoved back into cover by the lion.
“Well, Seth?” Argos demanded furiously. “Magitech immunity won’t stop me from ripping that pale, squishy throat of yours out!”
“All of you, stop this!” Keiko demanded. “Stop this at once! The last thing I need is my own soldiers killing one another! Seth, let me speak to Octavia, please!”
“Impossible, my Lady. We cannot risk you being found by anyone. We cannot risk a link to the Sekhama’s network,” Seth grunted as Argos lifted and threw him against the building on the other side of the alley, knocking the wind out of him. “I suppose… I may have deserved that one.”
“Argos, please!” Keiko implored, drawing as close to Seth’s terminal as she could. “We can help your family, protect them! Seth isn’t your enemy…”
“Maybe. Maybe not. I don’t know what he is. And you don’t either, Sunburst,” Argos growled as the human gathered himself to his feet and replaced his mask.
“So you really are Argos Entana? I always wondered what you’d done with the life I gave you,” Octavia interjected. “I’m not sure if I should be disappointed or impressed to find you working with him. You used to be one of us, Argos. Where is she?”
“I don’t know,” the tiger replied in a partial lie. “But I do know that she is safe. Seems those pretty little paws of hers are actually pulling quite a few strings… so what will you do, Commander? Kill me? Arrest me? Who’s the fresh meat? First mission?”
“You stay behind me, Spot. That man killed dozens to save three people. You are nothing to him,” Idris whispered before raising his voice. “That’s none of your concern, mercenary. And do not speak to me as though you still wear the badge. You made your choice. Lady Keiko, if you are listening to me… I’m sorry. Please forgive me.”
“Idris,” Keiko whispered, easily conjuring an image of his face in her mind’s eye. She was sure she got all the lines and furrows correct, a picture of duty assaulted by the need for dirty compromise with reality. How she desperately wished to reach out to him, to speak with him directly, to let him know she was hale and healthy. But whatever else Seth was, he did not seem to her a liar. If he was concerned about her safety in the event the Sekhama got a lead on her whereabouts, she was willing to believe there was a risk. And so she was forced to wait, trusting her fate to the Commander, Seth, and the still relative unknown that was Argos Entana.
“Our Lady wishes for us to fight on the same side. That is why we came here tonight,” Seth clarified. “She gave us all this… opportunity.”
“And no doubt risked her life to do it. I spoke with the whore,” Octavia countered dangerously, raising his revolver again.
“It was her choice,” the human insisted.
“Forgive me if I don’t believe that.” Idris cocked his weapon’s hammer. “That the boss?”
“Yeah. Peace offering?” Argos suggested, pointing to the corpse that had since bled out into a crimson pool in the darkness. Octavia narrowed his eyes at them, his regal mane more than enough to prove his status as the alpha among the four of them. And yet he found himself in the position of a bargainer.
“If I do not hear from my Lady in a week’s time I will upend this entire city until she is found. You will be hunted to the ends of the nation and beyond. And I will never cease your pursuit until she is safe and you are dead. Do not think my reach ends at the borders of our country. Until then… I look forward to our next target. Spot, move. Now.”
“We’ve been here too long as well, Seth,” Argos insisted, not wanting to let the opportunity to drink another day go to waste. “You owe me an entire fucking case of beer.”
“You owe me one for knocking my mask off and showing some Sekhama rookie I’m a human,” he groused as Argos activated his jump boots.
“I already factored that in. You still owe us all big, you goddamn monkey,” he finished, leaping and pushing off one wall then another until he had cleared the rooftops. As Octavia and Spot watched, Seth took the opportunity to meld into the shadows and begin his journey back to his safehouse. Spot couldn’t help but speak again.
“I gotta get me some of those…”
-----
“I’m sorry, Spot,” Octavia murmured. The two of them were looking over the wild dog’s partner. Tark had been sedated in one of the transport aircraft while Sekhama medics prepared his wounded arm for the implantation of a prosthetic. Doc Oz had already been contacted and, as always, he had insisted that the work proceed at all haste. The ostrich had threatened to cite the entire body of literature on modern prosthetics and amputation if anyone dared contest his orders to begin implantation immediately. No one had, and so Spot got to hitch a ride home on a medical shuttle. It was not the trip he’d expected.
“For what, sir? If anything I should be the one apologizing for not keeping it together.”
“You think I don’t see that nervous tic in your eye? Load of good that breath of fresh air was…” Octavia cursed under his breath. Spot could not help but nod. It had helped to be out of the eerie blue light of the laboratory underneath the Oro headquarters, but any relief had been squandered immediately as he found himself caught between three of the most deadly individuals in Alhamkara.
“I’m just glad I didn’t soil my armor, sir. To think the Wolf is a-” Spot snapped his mouth shut immediately at Idris’ scolding look. If anyone could convey the phrase ‘it’s classified so far up your ass you can taste it’ with a glance, it was Octavia.
“Let’s just stick with being thankful for clean armor,” the Commander agreed. “I usually don’t advocate for rookies, don’t want them to get too full of themselves after their first mission but… this is no doubt a reasonable exception.”
“Sir?” Spot cocked his head, finally removing his helmet and freeing his ears.
“Word of advice, Spot, don’t shower before you go to the harem. Don’t change either.”
“Uh, come again, sir?” The wild dog asked, completely taken aback. He knew Tark had been excited about the Mecca of flesh and sensuality deep within the palace, but given his status as a rookie Spot hadn’t planned on seeing it at least until he earned another chevron. Octavia seemed content tossing those plans into the bin.
“Let’s just say the maidens of the palace tend to enjoy a man in armor who smells like victory. I believe you’ll find the baths to be… soothing.”
Spot knew that if Tark weren’t under anesthesia, the cheetah would be grinning ear to ear.

2020.06.06 16:29 finnagains Quibi’s Slow Start Is Due to Having No Popular Titles, Poor Marketing — Analysis - Millionaire Bosses Re-Invent Youtube - by Tyler Hersko (Indie Wire) 3 June 2020

Despite execs arguing that the pandemic hurt the service, analysts counter that Quibi is floundering due to strategic flaws from the outset.
One of the defining strengths of Quibi, the short-form streaming service that launched on April 6, was its ability to court a wide variety of advertisers. But now, nearly two months after launch and with viewership staying low, some of the major companies that advertise on the streaming service are reportedly becoming concerned about the platform’s slow start.
The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Quibi advertisers such as PepsiCo, Yum Brands, Anheuser-Busch InBev, and Walmart are among the companies seeking to defer payments due to the streaming service’s low viewership numbers. Representatives from those companies did not return requests for comment.
The apparent concerns among Quibi’s advertisers cast further uncertainty on the streaming service’s long-term viability. Viewership at most competing streaming services is on the rise due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the mobile-only Quibi, which raised $1.75 billion prior to launch and regularly releases 10-minute (or shorter) episodes of its original series, has not reaped similar benefits. Quibi has also contended with executive turnover — Megan Imbres, who handled Quibi’s brand and content marketing, departed in April — and has begun to cancel shows as it looks to keep costs down. Quibi told employees in a recent internal memo obtained by IndieWire that its senior leadership team has volunteered to take a 10 percent pay cut and stressed that it would not be laying off staff as part of cost-saving measures.
Quibi founder Jeffrey Katzenberg expressed disappointment with Quibi’s early performance in a New York Times interview in May. While Quibi hasn’t released viewership numbers for any of its shows, CEO Meg Whitman told IndieWire in a recent interview that Quibi had been downloaded 4.2 million times as of May 26. The number of users who are actually using Quibi is less clear; Katzenberg told the New York Times that Quibi had 1.3 million active users as of May 11 and the number of paying users is likely less, as Quibi has offered free trials that run for as long as 90 days for some early adopters with select wireless providers.
Netflix, by comparison, had around 182 million subscribers as of April 21, while Disney recently said its Disney+ service, which launched late last year, had over 54 million subscribers as of May 5. Though Quibi has reportedly fared better with mobile users compared to WarnerMedia’s new HBO Max, which Bloomberg reported had only 90,000 first day mobile downloads, HBO Max is also available on computers and most smart televisions.
Though Quibi has partnered with a variety of popular filmmakers and actors, such as Chrissy Teigen and Liam Hemsworth, the streaming service’s unclear marketing and dubious value proposition have made it difficult for the platform to connect with prospective subscribers, according to Nitesh Patel, the director of wireless media strategies at research firm Strategy Analytics.
“Despite all the big names that have been involved with Quibi, like celebrities, shows, and directors that are contributing content to the platform, I still don’t know what Quibi actually means to people,” Patel said in an interview. “Part of the problem has to do with the value proposition. People don’t know what Quibi is and the content might not be there or optimized accordingly. In order to counteract that, they’ve extended the trial period to three months because they recognized that it will take some time for people to understand the service.”
A subscription to the ad-supported version of Quibi costs $4.99 per month, while a subscription to the ad-free version costs $7.99 per month. Though cheaper than most other streaming services on the market, Quibi faces fierce competition in a highly-competitive market. The popular Disney+ has expanded its subscriber base in recent months and NBCUniversal is gearing up to release its Peacock streaming service nationally on July 15.
Whitman, who served as president and CEO of eBay and helped the online retailer become one of the internet’s leading businesses, argued that some of the confusion around Quibi was due to the service offering an entirely new experience for consumers that is unlike the streaming services already on the market.
“We are creating a new category and it’s not that dissimilar to what I did with eBay, when nobody knew what e-commerce was,” Whitman said in an interview. “What we’re doing does not exist, so it doesn’t fall into a neat bucket. We’re premium video content on your mobile device with a unique viewing technology. It’s something that doesn’t exist, which is why it’s a little hard to explain. But people who use it understand it.”
The unique viewing technology Whitman referred to is called Turnstyle, which allows users to seamlessly switch between horizontal and vertical displays. Turnstyle allows Quibi content creators to display different scenes or character perspectives in their project depending on which way a smartphone using the Quibi app is held.
Katzenberg and Whitman stressed in the months leading up to Quibi’s launch that they did not see streamers such as Netflix or Hulu as rivals, as Quibi was designed to be used while users are outside during the day, such as in line at a coffee shop or while on public transportation. While Quibi’s Turnstyle technology is unlike any viewing feature on other streaming services, Quibi is still a mobile phone-oriented platform and a subscription-based streaming service, which means that it is inevitable that it will compete with preexisting subscription-based streamers, as well as popular free apps such as YouTube and Snapchat, according to Patel. He added that there have already been platforms similar to Quibi, such as the now-defunct go90 from Verizon and Vivendi’s Studio+.
“We’ve seen go90 from Verizon, which was ad-funded and completely free, and it still didn’t gain any attraction,” Patel said. “If we give them a bit longer, perhaps consumers will have more of an incentive to dip in. That said, the amount of competition is absolutely huge due to things such as mobile gaming and social apps like TikTok and WhatsApp that are all taking time away from Quibi.”
Regardless of what platforms it intends to compete with, Quibi’s mobile-only “on-the-go” design philosophy has been challenged by the coronavirus pandemic, which has forced most Americans to stay indoors, where they already have access to large televisions and computer screens that boast all of the industry’s popular streaming services. Katzenberg addressed how the ongoing pandemic has challenged Quibi in an interview with the New York Times in May.
“I attribute everything that has gone wrong to coronavirus,” Katzenberg said in the New York Times interview. “Everything. But we own it.”
Whitman noted that the pandemic has posed difficulties for the streaming service but said that the platform was making moves to adapt to the situation.
“The use case we really thought was the on-the-go mobile viewing from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” Whitman said. “You’d leave the house and get a cup of coffee or watch Quibi while waiting at a doctor’s office. Of course, we launched on April 6, when people weren’t on-the-go. Right at the start we had requests for TV viewing, so we responded right away and launched AirPlay on (May 26) and Chromecast will be coming in a couple of weeks.”
Quibi’s Turnstyle technology does not work on AirPlay. The platform’s content is also unable to be shared via screenshots or video clips — a key way Quibi’s targeted millennial demographic tends to discuss films and TV shows — but Katzenberg told the New York Times that that feature would be coming sometime in the future.
There’s no doubt that the coronavirus has impacted Quibi, but the platform’s most significant challenge has and will continue to be justifying its price tag when there are so many competing services that boast high-quality original films and television shows, according to Danyaal Rashid, a thematic analyst at analytics firm GlobalData.
“Of all the streamers out there, Quibi is the most impacted (by the pandemic) because it positioned itself as ‘something on-the-go,’” Rashid said in an interview. “The more important thing is the price, when you have Disney+ at $6.99 per month or basic Netflix for $8.99 per month. Price really shaped what has happened with Quibi. Quibi is trying to forge is own segment in the market but to gain value it will always come out to content. It needs to start to attempt to lead in content to warrant that dollar figure.”
Quibi launched with 50 titles and has promised to release 175 series within its first year. Its release schedule includes three hours of new content every weekday, and many of Quibi’s releases are star-studded: Idris Elba, Chance the Rapper, and Christoph Waltz are but a few of the many well-known Hollywood celebrities who star in Quibi shows, while A-listers such as Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Guillermo del Toro, and Steven Spielberg have created or have plans to create Quibi projects from behind the camera.
Although Quibi has partnered with numerous well-known talents to produce or star in its exclusive titles, none of Quibi’s releases have come close to the popularity of series such as “The Mandalorian” or “House of Cards,” the first original series on Disney+ and Netflix, respectively. Critics and journalists haven’t taken to Quibi’s releases either, given the service’s relative lack of post-launch media coverage. Quibi aggressively pitched its titles to journalists in the year leading up to launch and the quantity of Quibi’s similar press releases about its upcoming series made it difficult for critics to differentiate the titles. Star-studded action shows were promoted similarly to sobering documentaries, which caused Quibi’s potentially standout projects to get lost in the mix.
The streaming service also does not offer any acquired content, which was a key marketing point for competitors such as HBO Max, which spent hundreds of millions to acquire the rights to hit shows such as “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory.” Acquired content was also a significant draw for prospective Disney+ subscribers, given that the platform contains a large amount of popular films and television shows from brands such as Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar.
Quibi must find a way to entice viewers and the platform will need to do more to sell itself beyond boasting that its short-form content is well-produced, according to Doug Clinton, managing partner of tech VC fund Loup Ventures.
“They need to find a way to attract people who want to watch these kinds of shows instead of what they’re watching on YouTube or Instagram,” Clinton said. “A lot of YouTube content is under 10 minutes long and is shot professionally. Having a popular show would definitely help because finding some way for the platform to ingratiate itself with pop culture is important.”
Analysts were somewhat split on how Quibi could course-correct in the months ahead. Clinton suggested that Quibi should focus more on influencer-led content, which could better appeal to the millennial demographic that Quibi is targeting, while Patel suggested that partnerships and bundling — such as getting more ISPs or device makers to install the app onto smartphones — could boost the platform’s usage.
However, both analysts, as well as Rashid, agreed that Quibi would need to market itself better if it wanted to court new subscribers and retain the users who signed up for the 90-day free trials that will be ending in July. Quibi attempted to lean into the confusion in the months leading up to launch — it briefly changed its Twitter name to “WTFisQuibi” in January — but the streaming service will need to get serious about catering to its target audience if it wants to stand out in the market, according to Rashid.
“They hit the market quite hard on social media but it seemed a bit comical,” Rashid said. “People were making fun of what they were getting at. They were targeting millennials and hitting all the millennial buzzwords like ‘short form,’ but they forgot what millennials are renowned for, which is binge watching. They pulled binge watching out of the equation which is crazy, given who they are marketing for. I think there were strategic flaws from the beginning.”

2020.05.06 07:23 bruv-island Love Islanders Youtube - Full List / who is your fav islander Youtuber?

I've been binge watching Love Island while in quarantine and got really into a few islanders Youtube videos as a break from full episodes.
I took the time to google them all, LOL. Did not realize there were soooo many. I think some have better YT personalities than others. Applaud them for their efforts since editing and shooting videos are quite difficult.
I think my personal favs are Dr Alex and Molly-Mae because they have consistent content. Siannise & Luke T also have a massive subscriber count (71K) and only have 1 video, thats amazing considering Dr. Alex posts all the time and has 66K subscribers with relevant content relating to coronavirus.

2020.04.29 03:12 AliJungleOnly Welcome all new iBio bagholders!!!

I posted this a while ago, but stay in and don't sell for a loss.

iBio is incredibly cheap per share right now. This company is a fantastic COVID-19 play. I realize it got pumped and dumped on reddit and other social medias, but the reason for the hype is still there. I have seen many people destroying iBio by saying they didn't create an Ebola vaccine. Ebola didn't spread like COVID-19 did. Their fast pharming system would be unnecessary as scaling up for Ebola was unnecessary; they got sued because their stock price plummeted when Ebola turned out not to spread like everyone feared. iBio now has a new CEO, and are partnering with TAMUS, IDRI, and Chinese biotech company who has already developed a vaccine for a COVID cousin.
I know there are a lot of other companies working on a vaccine for COVID-19. However, if you have been following COVID-19 you would know that in S. Korea people who have "recovered" from the virus have gotten reinfected. Yes, that's right, the virus itself (being in the system for at least 2 weeks, did not trigger the immune system to be able to produce enough antibodies to spot the virus before it does serious damage. So if the virus itself being in the system for 2 weeks doesn't give a good enough immunity to the virus, what makes any of believe mRNA that produces vaccine proteins or antigens of the virus will provide enough protection against this virus. Therefore, we will need multiple shots spaced over several months (think Hep A or B vaccinations) or have a vaccine that produces an incredibly potent immune response.
Here is where iBio comes in. They have produced VLPs (vaccine like particles) that look exactly like the virus to the body. Furthermore, the VLPs express the antigens (e.g. spike protein that lets covid-19 enter cells) in a uniform and easily detectable pattern so our body produces the correct antibodies. The benefit of using VLPs is that they create a lasting immunity by activating our immune system in our bones (memory immune cells). Not only that, but iBio is working with IDRI to create an optimal adjuvant-antigen combination. An adjuvant enhances the bodies immune response to an antigen. So, not only do they have a superior product to combat this invisible enemy (invisible in that the immune system doesn't detect a reinfection even after you have had it per S. Korea) but they are working with top ID minds on Novel and patented adjuvant technology.
" “We are excited to be a partner in the development of IBIO-200,” said Corey Casper, M.D., MPH, Chief Executive Officer of the IDRI and Clinical Professor of Medicine and Global Health at the University of Washington. “Combining iBio’s VLP antigen with an IDRI adjuvant provides for promising safety and efficacy characteristics, and importantly, the ready ability to scale-up manufacturing to help meet the projected global demand for a suitable vaccine.”
The lead in the race for a vaccine is J and J. They are NOT making an mRNA vaccine, which means it's going to be antigen or protein based; iBio grows proteins incredibly fast and at a huge scale using plants; this means they will rely on BARDA to scale up the vaccine (which is what iBio's fast pharming facility was literally created by the US government to do). So, even if Johnson and Johnson beat iBio to the punch, iBio will produce the vaccine for johnson and johnson as part of the Blue Angle initiative their facility was created for. iBio is THE COVID-19 play. The stock will rise because J and J are in the lead and it seems a simple immune response isn't going to be effective enough to prevent reinfection. iBio has some of the top minds working on an incredibly safe, effective and scaleable vaccine. If J and J make the vaccine, iBio will for sure be manufacturing it.
One of the top infectious disease minds (Dr. Hotez) talks with A and M chancellor about COVID. The chancellor says they have a facility at Texas A and M to manufacture vaccines once we've come up with a good one, they are just waiting on orders from BARDA. I have 3k shares at an average of 1.4. The price right now is a steal. I wish I didn't buy back in so high, but I didn't expect the stock to be manipulated and shorted into the ground like it has been. This is a long hold and an incredible investment. There is a reason iBio has formed some weird fucking cult on Stockwits.

2020.04.17 17:46 Jay-Jay580 I having trouble figuring myself out

So I’m here today to figure something out. I’m 18 and a male, for most of my life up until late middle school and early high school I have always thought I was straight. But for a few years now I’ve identified as Bisexual. Also the area in which I reside virgins are somewhat of a “Delicacy”. And I’m still a virgin (no shame in my game, just waiting for the right one I suppose) But I’ve always known I’ve had an INTENSE sexual response/feeling for women. Men on the other hand not so much. I have a few men that illicit a sexual feeling/response from me (Johnny Depp, Channing Tatum, Idris Elba, to name a few) but the feeling was never as significant as a woman. I have also recently had my very first sexual experience and it was with a guy. I didn’t dislike it. But it wasn’t enjoyable. I couldn’t get it up ya know, the boat didn’t exit harbor. And I felt really bad because I couldn’t satisfy my sexual partner. And afterwards I didn’t know how to feel. And I questioned my sexuality. I’m not against the thought of sexual relations with a man.
What should I do? I’m really confused about how I should handle this. And i really would like to know what am I?

2020.04.16 06:21 Xchromethius Am I nuts or is Rivals 4 nearing upon us?

Bananas and Wes is not going to end well lol. There’s one... (Bear is a potential Wes partner too).
The random Idris Theo thing? Reach, but not ridiculous, opens up Rogan and Jay pairing and gives Theo an obvious return. (Pending eye thing)
Kyle Paulie has been in the crockpot for a while. Kyle and Rogan doesn’t compete
... there are plenty of others but also with a possibility of guy/girl pairs, this whole trilogy and especially this season has highlighted a few early:
Nelson-Kailah Ashley-Bananas Cara-Jordan (tough since Jordan likes to take breaks and Cara is an obvious shoe in next season to play out her “i found new life and I’m no longer dead inside” plot arc) also gives her camera time and an antagonist when paulie and Kyle start bro-ing out.
If it isn’t a couples exes thing I feel like it’s gonna be a rival thing...
If it is a rival thing watch out this season because I bet half the fights or whatnot will translate into that game especially for the newbies like swaggy c, Bailey, fessy, and jay to get more shots... jays lookin Beasty, swaggy c and bailey both won dailies... did fessy win one too? Regardless he’s gonna be joss tier physically so they should all be back, and whichever it is: rivals or couples/exes (which I know is the leading theory), most prospects fit the love and war and most fit the rivals one already and we’re early in TM.
Most of this stuff you guys know but there’s so much juice that built up to line up for rivals/ love and war that it’s gotta be one of them

We're finally back ladies and gentlemen! Through exams and plague Akella has been working hard and today we all get to enjoy the result. As always, let us know what you think about Coronation Day and consider supporting our artist on his patreon. Thanks everyone. Stay safe out there.
-----
Spot leaned forward slightly as the transport ship lifted off and its thrusters pushed him down into his hard, unforgiving seat. Night had fallen in the time it took Idris to brief them all on the operation and the structure they would be targeting, the Oro’s main base of operations which was situated in a slum that bordered one of the main commercial districts of the city. The black ships quickly melted into the sky, achieving a high altitude before turning and heading for the towering, well-lit spires of the capital. The rookie breathed out heavily and received a hand on the shoulder from his mission partner in response. The Sekhama operated on something of a modified buddy system when in combat, and he’d been training with Tark since he’d joined the organization on his sixteenth birthday.
"You alright, Spot?" The cheetah asked.
"Just the jitters, Tark," he admitted. Being the tip of the spear in a high altitude deployment craft while the rest of the strike force was travelling in normal, low altitude, all purpose shuttles drove the point home. His guts felt tight even without all the magitech resistance fiber and plating woven into his armor.
"Yeah I hear you, man. My first op was no different. Look, I'm not saying this will be a cakewalk but they don't know we're coming. Maybe there will be some small arms fire from the rooftops at worst. We'll handle it. Just stay behind me."
"Yeah, you got it Tark. I'll get your six."
"Just remember your training and you'll do fine, no heroics or glory. That comes later. The harem's waiting for us when we get back, and there’s a particular spotted gal among the maids I’ve heard has been wondering what the barbs feel like," the cheetah said with a grin, making a not so subtle gesture towards his crotch. Silence fell in the body of the ship as Idris' form shimmered to life as a hologram just in front of the cockpit door. Every Sekhama knew what to do, standing and throwing on their parachutes before grabbing guns, shields, and other equipment. Straps were tightened, clamps were locked, and magicite cartridges were loaded.
"Gentlemen," Idris called out. "I'm sure you all know the drill by this point. Your landing zone should be loaded into your helmets and lenses. Depending on the situation on the ground each team has discretion on where to land in order to secure the LZ for the main force." The commander gestured to his second in command. The leopard saluted. "Karth, you have command until I'm on the ground. Humanity protect you all."
The lieutenant took control immediately as the city far beneath the shuttle became denser, better lit, and more threatening. "Gear check!" He barked. The two Sekhama in the back of the ship began, tugging on chutes and punching at armor to make sure it was secured for drop.
"Ten okay!"
"Nine okay!"
"Eight okay!"
Eventually Spot felt the man behind him checking the straps on his chute and gear. "Four okay!" The wild dog took his turn, ensuring Tark's equipment was secure and ready.
"Three okay!"
When Karth confirmed he was ready to drop, the second in command rapped on the door separating them from the cockpit. A yellow light flashed above the outer door before holding stable, and they all moved to the left side of the ship. The first Sekhama in each pair grabbed handles on the ceiling of the craft as the entire side of the ship lifted up and away for their deployment. Spot had begun breathing deeply in preparation for his drop, attempting a moment of pre-combat meditation, when an alarm rang out and the lights went red.
"The fuck is going on?" Karth shouted.
"We've been locked!" The pilot yelled. "Prepare for emergency jump!"
"At this altitude? Where are we supposed to land? Where the fuck did mnyama dogs get fucking katana launchers?!"
"Where the hell do you think? Military surplus is fucking everywhere!"
"We get out of this alive and I'm tearing Torando a new asshole!"
"Everyone shut the fuck up and get ready to jump!" Karth yelled, waiting for word from the pilot as he looked for the drop target. He swallowed heavily, seeing well lit skyscrapers in the distance below. They'd never make it in the air and the ground could only be considered enemy territory, especially if their insertion was heralded by the flaming wreckage of a military transport.
-----
"These idiots know I can see them, right? They must know, right?" Talon asked nonchalantly, peering through the scope of his rifle. The magicka signature being thrown off by the katana's charge phase was unmistakable, even on that distant rooftop. "What do you think, Argos? Should I try to salvage it? Not sure when we’d ever have to take down an aircraft but it couldn’t hurt."
"I think you should pull the trigger before my brothers get killed, birdbrain," Argos growled, echoing Keiko's feelings to the letter. The princess was seated near Seth's terminal, giving her lens every bit of attention she possessed as her breathing went shallow and her foot tapped irritably. Sybela and Seth were correct; Octavia had decided to risk a hot insertion and now her soldiers were under grave threat.
"Don't worry your fluffy little head, I've got this…" Talon murmured in reply, raising his head and looking at the open chamber on the side of his rifle. "Now then, how are you lot going to die today?" He questioned, tisking as he looked over the various high caliber bullets and magicite cores he'd laid out beside him. "Let's see we could go with a magazine of elemental rounds, but that's so overdone. Hey buns, how does a singularity round sound?"
Keiko could practically hear Sybela rolling her cybernetic eye over the channel. "Talon, I don't care if you turn them all into flowers, it's not going to get me into bed with you. Kill them before Sunburst strangles you through the channel, will you?"
"Mist them Talon, now," Seth demanded in a hard voice. He'd momentarily deactivated the modulation of his mask, as though to further accentuate his order. Keiko felt her heart skip a beat, wanted to whisper thank you. She could only imagine what the Sekhama in the advance wave were going through in the few seconds it took Talon to select a high area of effect incendiary round, chamber it, take aim, and fire. She wished she could be on the ground for a moment as the resounding crack of Talon's weapon rang out, followed shortly thereafter by a long, impressed whistle from Argos. It was not a lady-like sentiment, to be sure, but she had no love for the mnyama.
"I may have missed dinner, but that was one hell of a show," he said appreciatively, a hint of bloodlust in his voice. "Did you intentionally hit the core, Talon? Was one fine explosion down here."
"Heh, I'll leave that for you to decide," the sniper declared confidently. “Enjoy the fireworks, boys.”
-----
Spot tried desperately to steady his body, full of adrenaline and panic long before any opportunity to pull the trigger. Tark was looking over his shoulder at him with a confused and relieved expression while Karth spoke rapidly into his helmet's receiver.
"You're sure that's what that light was?"
"Yes, Lieutenant, no further hostile signatures. We're in the green and over the drop zone now," the pilot confirmed. Idris Octavia's right hand furrowed his brow and glanced down at the city far below them. Even at his attitude he'd been able to see the detonation of the katana's core, a riot of deep purple, crimson fire, and stars, or so it seemed. It hadn't set him at ease one bit.
"Commander, we aren't alone here. Katanas don't just backfire. And when they do it sure as hell doesn't look like that. Someone else is here, and they’re a crack shot. Requesting orders," Karth requested as the jump light turned green and his men moved to the side of the aircraft to await his order. The leonine commander's low voice took a moment to reply.
"Continue the mission, Karth. This might be our only chance. We'll be right behind you."
"Understood, sir. Sekhama, jump now!" The leopard commanded before leaping from the transport.
Spot barely had time to process Karth's orders before he was following Tark out of the aircraft. The wind roared in his ears and buffeted any exposed fur on his body in the brief moment it took his chute to deploy. With his momentum slowed he grabbed the shotgun he'd secured to his chest, ensuring for the fifth time that night that it was loaded and ready to kill. "What do you make of this, Tark?" He asked, not feeling capable of tolerating a silent drop.
"No idea, Spot. But if we've got some guardian angel watching over us I'm sure as hell not going to complain. Get your weapon ready and stay focused, got a few heat signatures on the surrounding rooftops." Tark was about to call out the target that he and Spot would neutralize when machine gun fire erupted from a building about three blocks from the Oro's base of operations, accompanied by lines of light that indicated small arms fire and barrel mounted flashlights. "Oh this just keeps getting better!" Tark yelled sarcastically as some irresponsible group of gangsters fired round after round into the air at them, perhaps alerted by the earlier disturbance. Red, blue, and violet streaks lit the sky, the telltale signs of a tri-elemental belt fed weapon.
"They're still firing blind," Karth shouted, calling for order as the Sekhama in the air began to feel like sitting ducks. "Create space and stay focused on your targets. Don't give away your positions. I'll handle them."
Spot drew little comfort from the Lieutenant's words, watching at the trail of deadly light came nearer and nearer in a devil may care firing pattern. Ammunition was cheap, after all. He was sure the dogs were laughing at their sport. He did his best to maneuver his black parachute away from the stray rounds, waiting anxiously until they were close enough to the ground to return fire. The rookie felt the paralyzing fear of the shuttle return in full force as the enemy fire suddenly swayed back his way. For some reason he saw Eina in his mind's eye. It was short lived, broken by Tark's distressed voice on comms.
"Fuck, I'm hit! Cryo round got my arm and it's spreading! Where's the safest LZ?"
"Do you see a safe fucking LZ, soldier? Cause I sure as hell don't!"
-----
"Argos, looks like you're up. I don't think knives and blades work too well against a machine gun," Seth said calmly, watching as fire erupted from a few buildings away. It would have made an impressive and entertaining display were it not for the ten Sekhama in the line of fire.
"You're immune to gunfire, Seth, and I know you can use that pistol you always carry. Just admit you want front row seats to the show," Argos chuckled, already moving from his hiding spot and sprinting towards the MG nest. The tiger faunum cleared the first street easily, tail whipping behind him as the magicite propulsion engines in his combat boots gave him the thrust necessary to leap from building to building. He cleared water towers, purifiers, solar panels, and the occasional trellis with ease as the lights and sounds of combat drew close. The chatter of his teammates on the radio faded. It was only him, his bandolier of detonators, and his target.
Argos hit the roof of the offending building and tucked into a tight roll, slamming his back against a solar array for cover. He poked his head over and received no fire in return. He took another look, gauging the distance and grabbing two grenades from his belt. "This one's for you, Commander," he muttered, activating the fuses. He closed his eyes and counted to three before standing tall and lobbing them at the corner of the roof. "Burn in hell you bastards!" He yelled, knowing they would only have time to turn their heads before their bodies were consumed and shredded by magicite energy. He'd always enjoyed cryo grenades followed by a standard detonator.
"I really, really like him," Keiko whispered, standing from her chair as she tried and failed to calmly handle all the terrifying, chaotic excitement of urban warfare.
"Oh come on, not you too, Sunburst!" Talon complained. "Just because he gets up close and personal-"
"Talon, covering fire now. Stay focused, damnit!" Seth ordered, watching multiple heat signatures moving to assume firing positions on Argos' position. "I'll take the group nearest to me. You handle the rest. Move, now!"
"I'm fine right here thanks!" Argos yelled, hunkering down as magicite rounds whizzed over his head. "You think the princess will be upset with me? I may have blown a chunk of mnyama into this building's reservoir!"
"She'll be fine, just keep yourself alive!" Keiko yelled, feeling something approximating the concern she reserved for Idris and his men.
"You know the princess?! Does everyone but me know the bloody princess?" Talon complained between shots, dropping targets as Seth assassinated his fair share, the mnyama being far too distracted by sniper fire and the controlled, blind fire bursts of Talon's rifle to see the silent knife in the dark. Keiko's heart was in her throat, she could feel her ribs with every beat. But it was over in a matter of moments, barely enough time for her to understand what had happened. It was like her own first kill, action and reaction followed by silence. Seth's collected voice restored order.
"Argos, we need to move now. They're here."
"Roger that Seth, thanks for the assist."
"Save it for the bar. Leg it."
-----
"Lieutenant, do you have any idea what the fuck is going on?" One of the Sekhama in Spot's force demanded as they dropped slowly through the dry, summer air above the city to land at long last on the solid terrain of slum rooftops. They had all been a captive audience, watching in fascination as hostile contacts below had been neutralized one after the other. The death toll included all enemies on the roof of the Oro’s main compound, and the landing squad could not help but breathe a sigh of relief as the two unknown figures vacated the scene. Whoever they were, their fight appeared to be with the mnyama, not the Sekhama.
"Fuck if I know. I just know we're not being shot at anymore," Karth snarled, fingering the grip of his SMG in agitation. He hated 'fluid situations', and the current one was about as fluid as the water in the harem’s central fountain. "Tark, what's your status, brother?"
"I'm going to lose the arm, sir. The round penetrated. Pain is about halfway to my shoulder at this point, feels like standard hypothermic necrosis," the soldier replied evenly as he could. Spot could hear the suffering through his gritted teeth. Unlike his brothers, making it to solid ground had only kicked his heart rate a notch higher. He knew what was about to come, what he would have to do for his comrade.
"Understood," Karth acknowledged. "Spot, see to it now. He loses the shoulder joint and the replacement’s coming out of your pay. Rest of you secure the rooftop for the arrival of the main force. I need two on recon, last known position of unknown combatants. Commander, there's been additional intervention by those unidentified armed forces. I have two signatures retreating from the area as well as wherever our friendly neighborhood sniper is holed up. And we're going to need a medic down here. Tark took a cryo round to the arm. Spot’s shattering it now."
"This is why we get paid what we do," Octavia replied sternly, paying close attention to each feed from the helmets of his men already in the field. It was a nifty little piece of tech and software reserved solely for the headgear of the commanding officer of the Sekhama, allowing him to command his troops on multiple fronts in real time. "We'll be there before you know it. Alright Sekhama, listen up! Commander Idris is going to tell you all a story."
Feral cries and cheers went up from the teams on the ground and within the two shuttles that had been circling close to the Psygenics building during the initial stages of the operation. Those aircraft suddenly engaged in a steep dive, eager to deliver their lethal cargo to the now secured landing zone and exit the live fire area just as quickly. Idris remained standing, grabbing a handle on the ceiling of his shuttle as a sign of authority and stability. The pre-operation ritual began, Octavia’s storytime.
"I've got some news for you boys!" The lion faunum boomed. "The Lady Keiko is alive and well. The golden light still dawns over Alhamkara!"
Silence reigned for a brief moment before roars and cheers rose up along with the sound of rifle butts, shields, and armored fists slamming into the floor and walls of the shuttle. Idris yelled his own approval, ready to give them something to fight for.
"That's right, you mangey lot! The light still dawns, even as we strike in the dark! Last evening I received the strangest of gifts from the slums of our magnificent, festering city. Let me tell you a bit about the whore who's currently comatose in our med bay." That line earned the commander a few smirks and a catcall or two.
"That woman's name is Eina. She has two young children, Jace and Keiko. She loves Her Majesty so dearly she named her firstborn in her honor. Turns out Eina is a bit of a special whore, and if I hear anyone you tell her I said so I’ll be throwing you atop the mass grave we dig tonight for mnyama corpses! Because of her genetic profile, an extraordinarily rare concentration of human influence, the Oro decided she'd make an excellent guinea pig for their fucked up experiments. They stuffed her full of immunosuppressors, chopped her tail off, and grafted human tissue everywhere in her body, surely promising her money and a future for her children. Without Doc Oz she would have entered a degenerative spiral and died within the month. The way he described it, her body would have eaten itself from the inside out on a cellular level. And we’d have two more kids alone on the streets of our city, their mother slaughtered in the name of corporate sacrilege and the quest to market the human divine to the masses. I don't know if she'll survive the night."
Idris let those words hang in the air above his men. Spot punched the ground violently, sending a comforting shock up his gloved fist before returning to the process of securing a tourniquet to Tark's arm, just above the spread of the ice. He still wasn't ready to do what he knew he had to, to demolish another man’s body. No one made a sound until Idris growled bloody murder. "But that woman, despite her frailty, came to us to deliver a message and a mission. She was sent by none other than Lady Keiko herself! Oh and what a tale she told me, my brothers! You see this campaign tonight, this crusade against the Oro...it began long before we even reached the airfields. It began when our Lady Keiko assassinated the right hand of the Oro and saved that woman from their clutches!"
Idris saw the surprise in his soldiers' eyes as silence reigned again, their faces obscured by heavy helmets in the dim light of the shuttle's interior. He laughed long and deeply, a broad, toothy smile forming under his helmet. "I can see some of you don't believe me. But I swear to you all on my honor as Commander of the Sekhama, that our princess walked into an illicit brothel last night, stalked this mnyama scum, and executed him with a single shot to the head! Are we going to let her have all the fun, lads?!"
"NO, SIR!"
"Mhm, damn right we aren’t! We are here tonight to complete her mission, an order directly from a street whore’s lips speaking the will of our dear Lady! Tonight we serve that comical thread of fate and divine justice. Tonight we are charged with a solemn duty to cleanse our city in the name of the crown! Tonight we ensure that if Eina wakes again that she wakes to a world in which the barbarians who did this to her are six feet under! And if she doesn't...then we take vengeance tonight for her children and for every other citizen of this country slaughtered by these monsters. We send them to hell."
Idris drew his revolver and spun the cylinder before returning it to his holster and raising his shield. The shuttles were leveling out and the doors opening. Idris made his final appeal to rouse his soldiers' bloodlust.
"Tonight we show these bastard animals that there is another predator above them, the top of the food chain! Tonight we show these beasts what it means to feel fear! Tonight we show them how little their numbers mean in the face of our noble justice! Are your blades hungry, Sekhama?!"
"FOR BLOOD!"
"Then raise your shields and fix bayonets! Leave none alive! For the crown! For the princess! For Alhamkara!"
A chorus of war cries rang out from the Sekhama, a rising swell of primal rage that even had Spot and Tark cheering as they listened via their helmets. The adrenaline was sufficient to spur the rookie to his duty, as he was forced to shatter his partner's frozen arm with the butt of his shotgun. The experience was surreal and he felt like fainting, but it stopped the effects of the cryo round from spreading through the limb and into the core of Tark’s body. Seth and Argos watched from a distance as twenty more pairs of boots hit the roof and made ready to breach and clear the building. The human mercenary could practically feel Keiko's nervous tension over the channel.
"So it begins…"

2020.04.10 02:07 AliJungleOnly The Case for iBio

iBio is incredibly cheap per share right now. This company is a fantastic COVID-19 play.

2020.04.10 02:04 AliJungleOnly I Wish I Had More Money to Invest in iBio

iBio is incredibly cheap per share right now.

2020.03.20 19:08 Tmacafitso7 Why the hate (Idris and Jozea)

Firstly I hope everyone is keeping safe and mentally and physically healthy during this time.
Anyways why the hate with Idris and Jozea?
Jozea: I didn’t watch his big brother season where people talk about how much they didn’t like him, however i did watch clips and he did not seem bad at all. The main thing I keep hearing about people not liking him is that he called himself the messiah..... um okay, why is it okay for a plethora of the cast to have their own little nicknames or annoying habits. I really hope the hate isn’t over a doggone Name.
In regards to his performance on challenge seasons, people act as if he’s terrible when he actually has never performed poorly. On champs vs stars 2 he actually performed quite well (rewatch those daily’s) especially on that balls and blocks challenge. He only played bad on that human fooseballl game (which the rumor is he was throwing it for a strategic move. You can choose to believe it or not but even if it’s not true I don’t think one mess up should mean he gets permanently marked as a bad competitor. If that were the case many of our faves ought to have that held against them as well). Also literally began to drown Just so he could perform a daily (he couldn’t swim) unlike many people who have panicked and cried at moments like that.
On final reckoning, DaVonne was definitely a great partner to have but Jozea carries his weight too. People get him and paulie’s plight on that season mixed up by saying he spent the entire time in redemption. Jozea was actually only initially in the redemption house because Zach and Amanda threw him and Day in front the jump. Paulie and Natalie lost to Kam and Kayleigh which is why they were there (and they’d continue to keep losing til the end which is why they stayed in redemption). Jozea on the other hand kept beating Paulie and Natalie and rightfully getting back in the house. He and Day did lose to Kam and Kayleigh in that crazy water torture elim but that’s not a knock. Kam’s a great player and good at puzzles and both teams did their thing. The. Finally he and day lost in that rigged elim against Cory and Devin (which Zach and Amanda did as well). He and day for the most part did rather well on the dailies. One of the few teams to get halfway on that crazy heights and ropes challenge (the one Amanda jumped off on and Cara panicked about). They did well on the eating and water purge. They (as well as Amanda) we’re quick to notice the writings on the walls in that caged daily
Overall he seems like a fun, funny, cool person that would be down for you if you’re his friend. He stands up for himself and others. He tries hard during competition and always shows improvement. He just doesn’t seem bad at all. I really don’t get the hate. He’s not half as bad, rude, or over the top as more than half the popular guys on this show have been.
Idris: Competition wise the guy came in strong effortlessly knocking Wes far back into the bamboo, beating a big guy in a headbanger elimination, and aligning himself in an alliance that would help him. He definitely played a good strategic game and I feel he doesn’t get enough credit for that. He did what he needed to do to be the second to last remaining rookie. I will admit he disappointed me a bit with some of his daily performances as well as how awful he was at that puzzle in his elim with Theo. However who’s to say he can’t come back with major improvements. I think he’d be great with anything involving combat or endurance for sure.
Personality wise the guy just seems like he wants to be liked and what’s so bad about that? Personally if he was my friend I’d be like “bro fuck these people. Don’t make yourself pathetic by trying to always be included if they aren’t inviting you”..,. But still I don’t see how him commenting on everything challenge related makes him this awful person. Now whatever he and Theo has going on is between them. Both of them have given their version of stories as to why they have this little rivalry.
Overall I’d like to see him back.
In conclusion I don’t get the hate around these two guys. It’s one thing to not be a fan or not care for them but these guys seem to get huge crap their way as if they’ve done some of the horrible things many other challengers have done. Oh and both of them are sexy as fuck too (admit it, you know it too).
